You people are idiots. Microsoft is the scammerOmniTech is not a scammer. Someone posing as OmniTech is the scammer. Nobody can tell you you have anything wrong with your computer without having physical or remote access. Microsoft is trying to put legitimate support companies out of business, so they can charge $400 for virus removal that OmniTech would charge about $125 for. Boycott Microsoft. You don't need their products. Use Apache Open Office (it's free) instead of Microsoft Office. Use Linux instead of Windows. These third-party tech support companies are necessary because Microsoft products (especially IE and Outlook) are full of flaws, are unstable, and are easily exploited.

Omnitech support where hacked...and the hackers are calling us with our details.People do you not understand that there are two companies. One is Omnitech and the others are scammers that have accesses to Omniotech info. They call me every day starting at five am in the morning and another 10 times a day with a blocked number. I am not sure how to stop them and it is the same person each time that sounds as if he is from India. The first few times it happened I call Omnitech and they said I have no problems and that my computer is not reporting an error and will never do so. Right now it is harassment. Anyone has ideas on how to stop them from calling?
As far as the real Omnitech company. They have fixed my problems and the only complaint I have on them is that they are slow. |

OmniTech is being scammed. There is an OmniTech scam going on by phone, but it's not them! Somehow, someone got my cell phone number, and that I was an OmniTech customer. The scammers called up, claimed they were OmniTech and tried to get me to help them gain access to my computer. I knew it wasn't them when they asked for payment by MoneyGram, rather than take my credit card OmniTech already had.

TOTAL SCAM Verified by my local and state policeWhile trying to rid my computer of an ex boyfriend/computer hacker, I paid Omni tech $300+. After a very thorough investigation in a computer crime lab, I was told I made a $300+ mistake. I contacted Omni tech to get a refund only to be repeatedly hung up on/conveniently disconnected. I was willing to take the loss in money, however, I received a phone call today from omni tech, claiming to (6 months later) refund my money. All I had to do was fill out a western union form. Knowing that I got scammed the first time around, I decided to have a little fun. They were logged into my computer with the same Log Me In rescue box, the very same box they originally used. I asked if I could have a moment so that I could transfer the money in my account to a different account not connected to the account I originally used to pay them. The man grew extremely agitated and demanded that I cooperate if I wanted my money back. If you want to do the honorable, reputable thing, simply refund my money to the card you took it from. It's really quite simple. I paid for services that they could not provide (keeping my hacking ex out of my computer) and feel I should be refunded. In fact, I tried to get a refund several times. I tried calling the last working number I had for omni tech and go figure... it's no longer in service. If I was just a regular customer who had a bad experience, that would be one thing. Hearing from the State Police that they are scam artists is completely different. They offer top of the line computer assistance, but when they can't provide it, they fall off the face of the earth. Dont waste your time AND money!! Thanks for absolutely nothing omni tech. Or better yet, thanks for ripping off a single mother living on disability. Yea...that's real reputable. If you would like to clear your name and refund my money, legitimately (not through Western Union) my customer ID is 101344872. I won't hold my breath though.

Head Hunter OmnitechI bought two tune ups from Omnitech last year for 249. each. They were able to fix my computer problems effectively, however customer service stinks. For the past month they call daily numerous times saying my computer was infected and showed up on their end. I let them in my computer to check on it for free so I could see what was wrong. The technician wanted me to buy a software package for 167. to 350 in price. When I told him I didn't have the money at this time he got very angry and said he would disable my computer so I couldn't use it. I was horrified and will not deal with this company again. Buyers beware

:: Omnitech Support Response to all 6 complaints of Mr. Dan Scholten- posted on Dec 12, 14 & 16, 2014We, OmniTech Support, do not scam or rip off. Since we record every keystroke, we can refute bogus or misguided claims. We do a free remote access diagnosis using a trusted 3rd-party diagnostic tool to uncover the root of a problem. We neither can nor will manipulate the results. What it reveals…exists. Some issues are obvious, but in others, the diagnosis may uncover registry errors or malicious software. We neither call nor attract anyone to sign up with us nor do we target unsuspecting consumers.
Some people simply do not fully understand the process of diagnosis and tech support and their complaints can sometimes be witness to that. We do not scam or rip our customers off. We provide quality, affordable technical support, and always try to provide the best services to our customers. Mr. Dan Scholten Contacted us on December 11, 2014 with an issue “Need to install office suite 2010” and paid $199.99 to purchase and installed the MS Office 2010 and is valid for life time. While starting working on the issue, customer went offline. Without the presence of customer, we were unable to fix this particular issue as we need to reboot manually and check the issue status before confirming the resolution. After this, we called several times but were not able to reach him. He also never get back to us to get the issue fix, apart from him sending an email on December 11, 2014. He had informed in the email that he does not want to get connected to us. We simply do not keep on hold of our valued customers’ money if we were unable to fix the issue or we do not get the chance to work on the issue after repeated try. So, on December 13, 2014 we proactively refunded his full amount of $199.99 back to him as he was not agreeing to work with us anymore. We left a detailed voicemail for the refund and even sent out an email with the refund transaction details. Below is the refund transaction details: Transaction Approved: ----------------------------- Transaction ID: 2511174910 We want to make one that clear for all that BBB is not meant only for reviewing Omnitech Support. The BBB has their own standardized rating system for it accredited members. Please look at the at the below link once for further clarification: http://www.bbb.org/council/overview-of-bbb-grade/ The timing of when the credit appears on the account is totally up to the Credit card issuing company, not us. Some credit card companies may take several business days before any monies in a refunded transaction appear on the account. We want to take this as an opportunity to extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Dan Scholten for his time for confirming the credit received. We sincerely hope this helps resolve his issues and we certainly hope that he is satisfied with our response and the full refund. We always try to meet our customers' needs and expectations. We always try to maintain our professionalism and our high standard of service, so that every customer can feel confident and secure when doing business with OmniTech Support. |

:: Omnitech Support Response to :: Tried to get me to pay- posted on Dec 19, 2014This person was not pressured into anything and we have the Recording to prove, if this person can provide the identity, that and we certainly did not have a 15-20 minute discussion about fees. We monitor and record each session. Her/his problem was that was expecting help for free and did not understand why needed to pay to get support. For some reason, this person was apparently confused and thought we were a FREE Tech Support, which we are clearly not. We are an independent, fee-based support company. We clearly identify ourselves. We only get a one-time access to diagnose and fix any issues we find using a trusted, third party diagnostic software. What we found and what we have were conveyed to the customer. At anytime of the session, the customer can easily close the session by simply clicking on the “End Chat” button to end the remote session.
We never conduct business by tricking our customers to sign up for our service plan; rather we guide them to select the best plan for the specific customer’s needs and should they wish to purchase one. We are transparent throughout the process and explain everything before the customer makes a payment and signs up with us. They sign up with us because of our beneficial service plan for which they get their initial issue fixed, a full version of Bitdefender anti-virus software (rated very good by CNet), a full version of Advanced System Optimizer (rated outstanding by CNet), 5 GB of Cloud storage and UNLIMITED tech support… all at an unmatchable price. We don’t mislead anyone to sign up. As these allegations are posted anonymously, unfortunately we are not in a position to offer any comments as to what actually, if anything, transpired. Suffice it to say, we provide quality, affordable technical support, and always try to provide the best services to our customers. As always, we are here to assist people who truly need our experienced technician’s help regarding their any software related-issues at any time, day or night. In this instance, the complainer hasn’t revealed any details with which we can use to determine if this person is actually our customer in the first place, or a competitor who cannot match our quality and pricing who is trying to malign us. We invite this person to provide some more details like his/her email address and on what date he/she came in to us for help. If the customer can re-contact us, then we can research his/her concern. In that way, we can fill him/her in on what the issue was. If his/her issue has not been resolved, we would be happy to continue work on the issue until it is resolved and to provide a full refund if it cannot be resolved. To get a refund, just the customer needs to send an email at [email protected] or to call us at our Toll free number, 1-800-966-9940. We are here to help you and would be happy to settle the issue. |

Told me new computer would crashThey ran a scan called Smart PC Care which reported following: Malware - no issues found; Status of internet and other privacy traces 1657 issues; status of registry issues - 26 issues found; and registry optimization recommended.
This computer had just been purchased and I was having a problem with the registry of Microsoft office. It somehow forwarded me to their site. The Tech told me that based on the scan above, I needed them to correct the issues or my computer would crash. It would cost 199.00. I told them I would contact my grandson about it and get back to them. They said there wasn't time and I needed to fix it right away or the computer would crash. I hung up and ran my McAfee and Malwarebytes scans and they came up with no issues. They also told me they were a recommended tech support firm for Microsoft. I called Microsoft and they said they were not recommended by them. |

:: Omnitech Support Response to :: RE: Omni Tech SupportIf a customer called to our FixNow Support, after taking details from the customer and first hand issue diagnosis will be transferred to Our Specialized diagnosing team who use a respected 3rd-party diagnostic tool to uncover the root of the problem as initial troubleshooting steps. We neither can nor will manipulate the results. What it reveal exists. Some issues are obvious, but in others, the diagnosis may uncover registry errors or malicious software. Since OmniTech Support is a fee-based third-party remote Tech Support company, we charge for the service which we render, we have various System Assurance Service Plans at economical prices, which can work out for everyone, the wide range of service packs include Yearly, Half-Yearly and Quarterly Service Plans. If anyone needs our service just to fix a specific issue, then that person can opt for a One-Time Fix Plan. A $250 charge ($249.99) is not for a single-issue fix from our company; it includes UNLIMITED tech support. The fact that a plan was not mentioned for that price, causes us to doubt the veracity of this complaint.
We access the customer's computer, only with the customer's permission, using a well-known and trusted remote 3rd-party access tool called LogMeIn. We do not inject virus on others' computers and we can prove it as we record every remote sessions. The small (1.2 MB) LogMeIn applet, which allows one-time remote access to diagnose and fix any issues, is a harmless one-time use applet. After a session is closed, the applet becomes unusable and can be easily deleted out of the Programs folder in a few seconds. Our Diagnosing team checked on the issue present on his system. We used a Third Party recognized PC Health Check to uncover the root cause of the issue, which indeed displayed alarming issues that was on the system. The results of the third-party PC Health Check up on the customer's computer displayed cannot be altered. They are what they are. We explained this to the customer and after his payment was made, he will be routed to our specialized Resolution team to work on the issue. Some issues are more complex than what they seem to be initially and the time taken to fix the issue may vary according to the complexity of the issue and amount of issues present in the system and need sometimes hands-on assistance by the Service provider to resolve the issue. As these allegations are posted anonymously, we, unfortunately, are not in a position to offer any comments as to what actually, if anything transpired. Suffice it to say, we provide quality, affordable technical support, and always try to provide the best services to our customers. As to our reputation, the vast majority of the complaints were made by individuals who did either not fully understand the process of paid remote support, or had us confused with another company, or did not have reasonable expectations. In some cases, they just had buyer's remorse and they filed a complaint so as to get their money back, when all they needed to do was to contact us and ask for a refund. In any event, we have thousands of satisfied customers every week, so the proportion of complaints received is tiny by comparison. We want our customers to be happy. We always try to address their issues. |

:: Omnitech Support Response to :: Omnitech - Posted by Jopseph AcostaMr. Acosta is a former customer of ours and he was unfortunately contacted by a scammer posing as OmniTech Support not us. We have not had contact with him since September 04, 2014, but it is obvious that scammers posing as OmniTech Support have. Legitimate companies like us write refund checks or issue electronic credits to our customers' banks. We do not use such Red Dot, Green Dot Money Pack, or XOOM payment systems, we used a reputed & secured payment system.
OmniTech Support did not contact Mr. Acosta after September 04, 2014 when he contacted us last time, initially with an issue Virus removal. He paid $249.99 and signed up for the 6 months service plan, plan is active through March 03, 2015. It wasn't OmniTech Support who called Mr. Acosta. We would like to make one thing clear. We at OmniTech Support, do not call anyone outbound, unless they are an existing customer and we are trying to reconnect their computer, or they are an existing customer that has a plan that is expiring, which we call once, or twice if they do not answer. That is it. In fact we send an email out to our customers that we will never contact them that there is something wrong with their computer and if someone does then you can know that they are scammers It's a numbers game for these scammers. In this instance, they are just guessing you are an actual OmniTech Support customer. Even if they are right only 5% of the time, it pays out for them, as their calls are typically cost-free Skype calls. That's why you will see they are calling from an unlisted number. Please understand that no one can diagnose, there is something specifically wrong with your computer unless they have direct physical or customer-granted remote access to it. Mr. Acosta and others who receive these calls should try and note the caller ID (If available) and the time of the call and report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Legitimate tech support companies accept major credit cards and, in the case of OmniTech Support, we don't even see the credit card information, as our customers use a secure third-party payment gateway. We only see who has paid and how much they have paid. To educate our customers, in fact, we sent an email out informing that we will NEVER contact them stating there is something wrong with their computer and if someone does, then you can know that they are scammers. OmniTech Support is a trustworthy company that always tries to meet our customers' needs and we seek to resolve any issue or confusion quickly. |

RE: Omni Tech SupportI called for there support on December 13, 2014, and I was connected to 3 different supposedly tech support operators. The second person could not accommodate me, but the 3rd person did. I ended up paying $100.00 for him to just take off programs for me computer that I thought helped block malware, and other unwanted information. Let me back up, first I was told I would have to pay $249.00 because my license didn't work on my computer, so the first person I spoke to went into my computer after me giving him consent to take remote control of my computer. Then he said oh we definitely can help you, so after arguing with him that I think that was too steep of a price for me to pay, he said because my license worked, it would be $100, and I had to sign something in that effect, so I did, and after all that he transferred me to someone else. I was upset and told him you lied to me, and I did not appreciate you telling me all what needed to be done to me computer, but you could not fix the problem. So the next person got on and she after several attempts could not fix the problem and we got cut off. They called me back and some guy got on saying because my problem was more complex, they connected me to another person, I just wanted my computer fixed, besides I just paid them $100. Then the 3rd person, acted like he had an attitude, because he said I needed to take some things off my computer in order for my computer to work. Even after they were taken off it still did not work, so he put something on there and it started cleaning itself, he did nothing, and didn't tell me what he was going to do. I was online with these people from 1:00 pm to 11:00pm, probably after, and I couldn't wait for them to get off my computer. I do not think they deserved $100, because what he did I could have done myself. I need to find out how I can get my money back, can someone help me?

Tried to get me to payGoogled free tech support chat, and was brought to this site. The guy ran a scan on my computer, taking about an hour of my time and then claimed it would take over 200 dollars to fix my issue. When I refused to pay anything over 5 dollars, he became very aggressive. I tried to stop the remote control connection but he kept keeping me away from the button, pleading that i pay his great deal of 119.99 USD. This is a huge, and very unprofessional scam.

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND SUCH A SCAM!This is a Scam, they do not fix your computer all they do is run a program that does everything and they want to charge you over $200 for something that is a quick fix. Once they had control of my screen and I stated I do not want the service for i am not willing to pay that much money the person wouldn't let me stop sharing control over my computer. H was being very aggressive and was trying to force me into paying such a ridiculous price. I have been working as IT for 8 years now I know computers and this service is Useless and overpriced. I had to force shutdown on my computer since the person on the other side wouldn't give me access. they also started throwing cheaper prices at one point he offered the service for $50.
Please be smart and not use this service! contact your computer provider they will do a great job! |

Dan ScholtenI am happy to report after making it clear in no uncertain terms that I would pursue the return of my money after 5 very stressful days Omni Tech at least proved my point that if they can take fast they can return fast. As of 12/14 the very day I made it clear I considered the business practice fraudulent they returned my money in full!!!!
How the refund was done I consider credible. I am still unsure who did I deal with if the claims are that it was another company scamming? why automated ROBO CALLS? considering the number of complaints something is wrong but at this time of year I am thankful for the return of assets. I learned a great lesson but I know how to go to ground. My account was hit twice a day for a week after the Target fiasco. I organized law enforcement to seize the records of the company hitting the account after a week of them denying received bank papers both by fax and email directly from the bank. I had my money back in 24 hours. Thank You Omni Tech customer service for at least taking me serious |

DAN SCHOLTENIF NOT YOU WHO DID I DEAL WTH PROVE IT
EXPLAIN TO ME WHY A COMPANY MARKETED AS INSTANT FIXES FOR YOUR COMPUTER IN MINUTES OR HOURS AND TAKING YOUR MONEY IN MINUTES NEEDS 10 DAYS TO RETURN THE MONEY ALSO WHY AFTER TOTALLY NOT SUPPLYING WHAT YOU PROMISED FOR THAT MONEY I GET CONSTANT ROBO CALLS ASKING FOR MY CREDIT CARD TO PAY FOR A GIFT CERTIFICATE AND YOUR OPERATORS REFUSING TO CONNECT ME WITH TECH SUPPORT AND DISCONNECTING?????? EXPLAIN WHY YOU CONTINUED TO CALL USING GURU AID ID ON MY PHONE THEN DISCONNECTING OR JUST LISTENING ON THE PHONE, AFTER DISCONNECT THE ID CHANGES TO UNKOWN??? IT SEEMS DOCUMENTED THIS IS A PATTERN TO MANY PEOPLE? SUPPOSE YOU BRING IN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THIS WAY AND AT LEAST 50% OR MORE OF PEOPLE ARE TO WEAK TO RESPOND YOU KEEP THE MONEY THE REST YOU EARN HIGH INTERST IN SWEEP ACCOUNTS BEFORE YOU RETURN IN 10 OR MORE DAYS? ALL OF THIS IS ILEAGLE AND SINCE IT CROSSES STATE LINES IS A FEDERAL CRIME UNDER THE RECO ACT VERY SERIOUS. I INTEND TO HAVE YOUR RECORDS SEIZED AND FORMAL CHARGES FILED. OmniTechI did use OmniTech and they did fix my computer as asked to do. It did cost me an arm and leg then about 5 or 6 months later I started getting calls telling me they were getting warnings about hackers getting in my computer and wanted me to buy a service plan . The plan they wanted to sell me was a lifetime service. I have no complaint other than getting calls from the tech, but here is my problem how and why are they monitoring my computer and can they see all I am doing? They wanted me to go to CVS and buy a Red dot thing to pay them. this sounds sketchy to me. Joseph Acosta

OmniTech's Response to "Omni Tech called back- posted on Dec 9, 2014"It is unfortunate that this person was indeed scammed by someone POSING to be from OmniTech Support. Scammers are calling people posing as a technician from a leading software company (like Microsoft or MacAfee), a hardware company (like Dell or Sony), or a top-tier tech support company (like OmniTech Support is. Anyone who is reading this needs to stop and think about it. Only a scammer would ask for payment or remote access using scare tactic such as claiming that your computers had been infected by virus infections and had major software failures.
So, the call this person received was certainly not from OmniTech Support. It was a scam call. We simply don’t call people unsolicited. This is another version of a well-known scam that has intensified recently. If anyone calls you about your computer’s functioning, they are not legit. Unfortunately, this person is not alone. If anybody calls with this scam, the best course of action is to hang-up the phone. All who receive these calls should try and note the caller ID (If available) and the time of the call and report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Key Points for EVERYONE to Remember: 1. Absolutely no one claim that a computer is infected, or a driver is out of date, unless they have direct physical or customer-granted remote access to the computer. If someone calls with this claim, people should just hang up. 2. Do not take unsolicited calls, where someone is asking for your credit card information, even if they say it’s because you are owed a credit. 3. Legitimate tech support companies do not get paid via Western Union, Green Dot, or Xoom. The scammers want their scam to go on, so they need to remain anonymous. . We always try to meet our customers' needs and expectations. We always try to maintain our professionalism and our high standard of service, so that every customer can feel confident and secure when doing business with OmniTech Support. |
